“A fantastic gift—thank you so much!” said Lars Bill, chairman of the board of Oseberg Vikingarv, as he accepted the generous donation check from the Sparebank Foundation. The occasion took place during an event at Støperiet on May 13. Representing the enthusiastic donors were Group CEO Inge Reinertsen of Sparebank1 Sør-Norge and Bjørn Engaas, chairman of the Sparebank Foundation Nøtterøy–Tønsberg.

In total, more than NOK 25 million was distributed to volunteer organizations. For many clubs and associations, such grants are absolutely vital. The large hall was therefore packed with happy and hopeful recipients. Øystein Sunde and his fellow musicians wrapped up the evening with a cheerful mini-concert, providing a fitting end to a fantastic night for volunteer work in Tønsberg and Færder.

For Oseberg Vikingarv, this year’s grant was more important than ever—and not just because of the amount. The foundation has now seriously begun the work of financing the two large buildings planned at Vikingodden, a project estimated at nearly NOK 30 million. With NOK 3 million from the Sparebank Foundation Nøtterøy–Tønsberg, we are well on our way!
