Londoners have greeted this modern “Viking invasion” with enormous excitement. Over the past few days, the ship has welcomed countless visitors on board, sharing stories of traditional craftsmanship, Viking trade routes, and Norway’s rich Viking heritage. The response has been remarkable, proving how this project resonates across generations and cultures alike.
Making headlines
Media interest has been immense. The ship has been featured in four live BBC broadcasts, as well as coverage from Reuters, The Guardian, and NRK.
Saga Farmann was also part of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce program for the Vestfold delegation, which highlighted tourism, energy, and international cooperation. Special thanks go to technology partners Fischer Panda UK | Power Solutions and SeaDrive AS, whose support has been key to making the voyage safe and sustainable. For Norway and Vestfold, the ship has been a spectacular showcase on the international stage.

The journey continues
This weekend, the adventure sails on at the Classic Boat Festival, where visitors will once again have the chance to step aboard and experience Norway’s Viking legacy firsthand.
A voyage full of highlights
London is certainly a standout stop on Saga Farmann’s epic European journey, but it’s far from the only one. Before arriving in the UK, the ship traveled via Paris, where it also drew considerable attention.
The voyage began three years ago in Tønsberg, taking the ship along the Rhine and Danube to Istanbul. There, it spent the winter at the renowned Rahmi M. Koç Museum, serving as the centerpiece of a special Viking exhibition.
In 2024, Saga Farmann continued to the Greek islands and the Adriatic Sea, eventually reaching Rome’s historic port of Civitavecchia for another winter layover. This year, the ship voyaged through Marseille, Paris, and Honfleur, arriving in London for its latest winter harbor – ready to bring Norway’s Viking story to a new audience once again.
