The municipality has granted USD 6,000 as a contribution towards our annual Viking Festival (Aug. 12.-15). On June 19, there will be yet another festival, then to celebrate a town anniversary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Tonsberg can celebrate its 1150 years anniversary, which will be marked by a number of smaller and larger events throughout the year. Main theme will be the town\u00b4s rich history, through Viking Age, Middle Ages to today\u00b4s prosperous town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main celebrations will take place during the week end June 18.-20., and on the 19th<\/sup> we will arrange a mini Viking market. There will be market stalls, song and contests, music, rowing and a lot of fun. Everything for free, thanks to another contribution of USD 3,000 from the town council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We expect both our markets to go as planned, regardless of the corona situation at the time, says Ole Harald Fl\u00e5ten, who coordinates both markets. <\/p>

– During last year\u00b4s market, we had more than 3,000 visitors, and a lot of focus on preventing contamination. The result was zero contamination.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
