The existing rudder was originally made for testing out sister ship Saga Oseberg, but never functioned optimally. So when Saga Farmann was launched it was decided to try out the rudder on her instead, while a new one was made for Saga Oseberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the rudder still did not perform quite as well as intended. \u201cTo adjust a rudder to a ship is quite complicated, and requires a lot of finetuning, adjusting and experience\u201d, says head boat builder Jan Vogt Knutsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHowever, the main reason for making a new one is that Saga Farmann will need a spare one when leaving for her planned Scandinavian voyage this sailing season.
