(There was not enough left of the original to produce an archaeological replica). Saga Farmann is even fitted out with advanced, electric engines, making her \u201cthe most advanced Viking ship in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saga Farmann already owns a synthetic fibre sail, judged to be safer and easier to operate during her crew\u00b4s training sessions. The fabric for a woollen sail is already ready, after an incredible effort at the loom, mainly by Randi Sch\u00f8ning Olsen from the Oseberg Textile Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sail was originally intended for Saga Farmann, until Farmann Boat Team now offers it to Saga Gokstad (under construction) in exchange for yet another man-made fibre sail. This will cost considerably less, and will be a lot easier to handle and store on board when Saga Farmann in a couple of years sets sail for her long European voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are most grateful for the swap suggested by Farmann Boat Team,\u201d says Oseberg Viking Heritage Chair, Einar Chr. Erlingsen. \u201cWe will save a lot of money on not having to produce yet another woollen sail.
